Event Series

Global environmental challenges require a transition towards more sustainable supply chains for products and services. Sustainability transitions to alternative products, energy, and services will be needed at country, regional, and corporate scale, and will be complex. There is a need for next-generation LCA tools and knowledge to support this.
Life Cycle Assessment continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of society and provides a holistic and scientifically validated impact assessment approach that is applicable to all segments of society and the economy, for products, services and organisations.
Join the Australian Life Cycle Assessment Society (ALCAS) for the 12th LCA Conference in Melbourne, Australia. The Conference will bring together climate and energy practitioners, green building designers, product manufacturers and suppliers, industry users of LCAs and EPDs, government, researchers and LCA professionals to network, learn and debate.
Abstract Submissions
Abstract submissions are now closed.
All peer-reviewed papers and abstracts of posters and presentations will be published in the conference proceedings (with permission), which will be distributed to conference attendees, and available for wider public access on the conference website at a later date.
This year, we welcome interested organisations to nominate and coordinate conference sessions and workshops. Please contact conference@alcas.asn.au if you're interested.
Sponsorship
Sponsorship opportunities are available, and a range of packages are outlined in the Sponsorship Prospectus offering a variety of exposure levels at the Conference. Promotional opportunities also exist through attendance at the conference social functions to meet with delegates.

Using GreenTag Services, including Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), for Recognition in Green Star and ISCA
Global GreenTag
As sustainability standards and rating tools continue to shape the built
environment, it is critical for manufacturers, designers, and project teams to
understand how product certifications and declarations can drive both market
recognition and compliance. In Australia and internationally, Green Star (administered by the Green Building Council of Australia) and the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) have become key frameworks for delivering sustainable outcomes. Both rating systems place strong emphasis on verified product data and transparency—areas where Global GreenTag’s programs add unique value.
This workshop will:
-
Introduce Global GreenTag’s certification services, including the EPD Program, Product Health Declarations (PHDs), and other recognised tools.
-
Demonstrate how these certifications are directly acknowledged and rewarded within Green Star and ISCA credits.
-
Provide guidance on leveraging these services to maximize product visibility, enhance project ratings, and support industry leadership in sustainability.
-
Offer practical case examples and pathways for manufacturers and project teams to achieve recognition in the marketplace.
By the end of the session, you will have a clear understanding of how to integrate GreenTag certifications into your sustainability strategies and how they can unlock opportunities in both building and infrastructure projects
3.30pm - 5.30pm
Nature Positive Certification and the Role of Environmental Product Declarations in Getting There
Global GreenTag
The global sustainability agenda is moving beyond “doing less harm” towards
achieving net positive outcomes for nature. This shift requires businesses,
manufacturers, and project leaders to actively measure, reduce, and
regenerate their impacts on ecosystems, biodiversity, and natural resources. Global GreenTag’s Nature Positive Certification has been designed to guide and recognise organisations and products that are aligning with this ambitious new direction.
In this session, we will:
-
Introduce the principles of Nature Positive Certification, and why it represents the next frontier in product sustainability and corporate responsibility.
-
Explore how EPDs—as a recognized, transparent, and science-based tool—provide the critical life cycle data needed to identify, track, and communicate environmental impacts.
-
Show how integrating EPDs with Nature Positive pathways enables companies to move from simple compliance towards measurable positive contributions.
-
Share practical steps, case examples, and strategies for manufacturers and project teams to adopt this certification and demonstrate leadership in nature-positive outcomes.
By the end of this workshop, you will understand how Global GreenTag’s Nature Positive Certification, together with robust EPDs, can provide your organisation with a credible framework to not only reduce harm but to actively give back more than you take—supporting thriving ecosystems and resilient communities.
